Shakila Zafar is one of the most popular singers in Bangladesh. She has contributed in all areas of singing. She has sung more than 600 songs in her glorious career. Millions of her fans hear her old songs in this era too.
Shakila Zafar was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She is popular to her kith and kins as “Smrity”. Her father was a Govt. Officer of Industrial Development Bank of Pakistan. She passed her childhood in Karachi and came to Bangladesh in 1970.
Shakila started her educational life by admitting into Karachi Children Educational and Park School. After came to Bangladesh, she admitted into Wills Little Flower School. She completed her graduation from University of Dhaka at Philosophy.
At first Shakila learned singing from Ostad yasin Khan and then she went to Ostad Mithun Dey, whom she called Master Moshai. Her career began in the 1983 BTV program “Jodi Kichu Mone Na Koren” where she performed an astrology themed song “Tula Rashir Meye”. It brought fame to her.
Shakila Zafar is the most popular artist of duet songs. She performed in duet songs with various famous artists like Shuvra Deb, Kumar Bishwajit, Subir Nandi, Topon Chowdhury, Nakib Khan, Bappa Mozumder and many maore.
